Dewey Elton King, age 75 of Belvidere, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Sewanee on November 8, 1942 to the late Emmett Edward and Eliza Catherine (Dodson) King. Before his retirement, he was employed as a Senior Systems Computer Operator at AEDC. Dewey was a great stone mason, working mostly with natural stone. He was an avid University of Tennessee Football fan as well as a Bobby Allison Nascar Fan. Dewey's greatest passion in life was his granddaughters. He was of the Church of God faith. In addition to his parents, Dewey is preceded in death by his brothers, Elvin King, Ples King, Preston King, and Emmett King; and sisters, Leona Johnson and Ila Mae King. He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Dean King of Belvidere; daughter, Kim (Shawn) Haraway of Belvidere; sons, Chad King of Belvidere and Cary Wade King of Cowan; sister, Ethel I. King of Sewanee, Denzil King of Sewanee, and Anna Lee (John) Kuntz of Tracy City; granddaughters, Kailee Rigsby and Carley Rigsby; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Saturday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev.
